Jean Bubba tells frequently at 1001 Friday Nights of Storytelling and has told original stories at Dare Storytelling and High Stakes Storytelling events. For the 2017 Toronto Storytelling Festival, Jean produced “The Scorned Women’s Tea Party,” an afternoon of literary stories with music provided by Michelle Rumball. In the 2018 Festival, Jean was an invited teller for The Talking Stick evening and appeared with Michelle Rumball in their set for Storytelling at the Gladstone Hotel. Most recently, she was a biblical storyteller for the consecration of Bishop Andrew Asbil at St. James Cathedral. Michelle Rumball plays all over the city and this past spring found her playing an intimate solo show for the Sellers & Newel Speakeasy series and a sold-out Bob Dylan Tribute at the much larger Hugh’s Room Live, as well as all her regular shows at venues across Toronto. In her role as a side person, she can be found crooning folk hits in the ‘60s Folk Revival show that plays monthly at Free Times Cafe. Her third solo recording came out in October 2018. She is a subway musician, sending words and music into the ears of Toronto.
