Judith Cohen

Judith Cohen is a Canadian singer, storyteller, and ethnomusicologist known for her work as both a performer and a scholar. Her specialty is Sephardic music and related diaspora traditions, from Spain, Portugal, the Balkans, French Canada and Medieval Europe. Judith teaches part-time at York University and is the consultant for the Spanish Collection of the Alan Lomax Recordings. An inveterate traveller, this past summer she gave concerts and conference papers, and conducted village and urban fieldwork in Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Israel, Poland and China.
